
Our Employee Spotlight for August is Forklift Technician, Kody Parson. Kody lives in Hunlock Creek, where he likes that it’s a nice, quiet area to live. He and his wife, Brooke, are expecting their first child, a daughter named Bailey, any day now. They also have a dog named Sophia. Let’s get to know more about Kody.
AL: What is your favorite hobby? What do you enjoy about it?
I like working in my shed. I enjoy it because I can turn the music up and stay off my phone for a few hours.
AL: How long have you been with Action Lift?
4 years this month.
Al: Describe what your job entails.
Maintaining and repairing lift trucks.
AL: Who inspired you to pursue the career you have today?
I would say my dad. He was a mechanic, and I always wanted to fix things like he does.
AL: Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
I see my family in a new house, and still maintaining and repairing lift trucks.
AL: What is the best advice you can give someone who has just started their career?
Never be afraid to ask questions if you don’t know something.
AL: What are the most demanding challenges you’ve had at work? How did you overcome them?
Dealing with second- or third-hand information from customers due to shift changes or other circumstances can be challenging. To overcome this, I find that taking a few extra minutes to ask questions and gather as much information as possible can help things move more smoothly and efficiently.
AL: When you are at work, how do you motivate yourself?
I just want to do a good job and think back to when customers have complimented me in person or afterward, about how appreciative they were that I was able to help keep them operating.
AL: Regarding successes, which accomplishments are you most proud of?
I am most proud of my family
AL: How have you grown professionally while on our team?
My communication skills have significantly improved since starting at Action Lift.
AL: Tell us something about you that most people don’t know.
I was a collision repair tech before working at Action Lift.
AL: Which of our 30 Fundamentals is your personal favorite, and why?
Fundamental 8 Find a Way. I like it because I enjoy challenges that require thinking outside the box and finding a solution.
