Brad Kotarsky and fiancée Rose.

Our Employee Spotlight for September is Forklift Technician, Brad Kotarsky. Brad lives in Wapwallopen, where he enjoys the quiet and seclusion, but the area remains accessible. He and his fiancée, Rose, have a coonhound named Zoey and an orange cat named Gerry. Let’s get to know more about Brad.

AL: What is your favorite hobby? What do you enjoy about it?

My favorite hobby is camping.  The second our camper hits the road, there is a sense of relaxation and an escape from reality.

AL: How long have you been with Action Lift?

I’ve been at Action Lift for just short of six years.

AL: Describe what your job entails.

My job involves forklift repair and customer relations/fleet management at my home account.

Al: Who inspired you to pursue the career you have today?

Several family members in the automotive and heavy equipment repair industries provided me with the opportunity and knowledge that have enabled me to be where I am today.

AL: Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

I see myself advancing my career with Action Lift, applying my knowledge to ensure our customers and colleagues are satisfied.

AL: What is the best advice you can give someone who has just started their career?

Keep a good work ethic, learn and remember as much as possible, take notes, and appreciate/understand differences.

AL: What are the most demanding challenges you’ve had at work? How did you overcome them?

The most demanding challenges I currently face vary between scheduling and multitasking large jobs, lift/accessory installations, and daily breakdowns on high-hour equipment during Crown’s monthly PM rotations.

AL: What’s your secret talent no one knows about?

I really enjoy smoking meats, cheeses, and catering for small events.

AL: When you are at work, how do you motivate yourself?

Keeping busy and focused makes the day pass quickly, and taking the time to talk with my customers and associates keeps my work environment happy and successful.

AL: Regarding successes, which accomplishments are you most proud of?

I am most proud of the trust I have earned from my successors, who have entrusted me to keep a “clean and tight ship” with all my customers and accounts.

AL: How have you grown professionally while on our team?

Being able to manage my time accordingly on a job-to-job basis and appreciate any chance given to teach and guide new employees.

AL: Tell me something about you that most people don’t know.

I have a passion for craft drinks & work at a local brewery/distillery some weekdays & weekends.

AL: What’s your favorite movie or book, and why?

Any true crime or history is up my alley. 20/20 is my go-to, mostly.

AL: Which of our 30 Fundamentals is your personal favorite, and why?

My favorite Fundamental is “Make quality personal”.  Take your time, be honest, and ensure a quality job.  Take care of your customers and employer, and they will take care of you.
